Tech Companion’s inservices will help teachers get up and running quickly and confidently. A comprehensive program overview and hands on demonstration of the book’s features and templates will prelude hands-on guided practice that will help teachers implement the curriculum and technology immediately in their classroom. One-half and full day inservices are available. |

Tech Companion’s first book has had overwhelming success in elementary schools, with parents at home, and with afterschool programs. This instructional yet simple to use book will guide students in grades K-6 through curriculum based lessons integrating technology skills. Each lesson is aligned to California State Content Standards. A CD-ROM of templates accompanies the book, making these lessons ready to use in the classroom or at home right away. |

Why was Tech Companion created? |
|
Having been a classroom teacher for over 12 years in Orange County, Cynthia Garland, founder of Tech Companion, saw the endless possibilities that technology could help to enhance the curriculum. With teachers’ days becoming filled with endless responsibilities and curriculum to cover, it became apparent that technology needed to be integrated into the curriculum rather than taught in isolation. |

Are Tech Companion products aligned with California State Standards? |
|
California teachers are required to align the instruction they do in the classroom with the California State Content Standards. Each of the lessons in Kid Pix® Deluxe 3 or Kid Pix Deluxe 4 Projects for the Classroom books are aligned to these standards to help the teachers cover the required material and help parents know that the projects their students are completing have not only technical value, but also curricular value. |

Full staff inservices can be conducted at your site to give hands on demonstrations on how to use Kid Pix® Deluxe 3 Projects for the Classroom or Kid Pix® Deluxe 4 Projects for the Classroom with your students. Cynthia Garland or certified staff will come out and spend the day with your teachers and guide them through:
- Kid Pix® 3 or 4 Deluxe tools and functions
- Lesson integration with state content standards
- Hands-on guided practice through the ready made templates found in the Kid Pix® Deluxe 3 or 4 Projects for the Classroom books
- Creating multimedia slideshows with student projects including voice narration, animations and slide transitions
- Using scanned pictures or digital camera shots within your Kid Pix® projects
- Strategies for using the lessons in a classroom or lab setting

What is the cost of an inservice visit? |
|
The cost for a full day staff inservice, including a book for each teacher up to 25, is $1,100. The training would include two, 3 hour sessions with each group of your teachers. |
